Comiket 79 Mash Up Report

Hey gang, what's happenin? Comiket 79 has come and gone, It was one crazy week. I didn't have much time since I had to work immediately after comiket, but I can finally blog now that I'm done with New Years work. Lets get started...

This year, I met up with a couple of fellas. Some from our last venture in the summer, and also some new faces joined our party. Of Course, all otaku-like, we met up in Akihabara.

Well it's been a while hasn't it! How's it going?

If you've been following me ANYWHERE then you'd know by now that-

I MADE IT IN TO COMIKET AGAIN.

Been working pretty hard @ both work and doujin stuff, I went back home to America for a few weeks and came back Last Friday. I'm happy to say I have completed and have the copies of my new Artbook in my hands ready for Comiket:

Application for Comiket 79

All right, so...The darn application deadline for Winter Comiket 2010 or Comiket 79 was just a few...in fact a day after frickin Comiket. I had to help out a friend apply as well so...I had a ton of stuff to do with little time.

These are the application packets I got at comiket.

These are still a requirement, because these are what provide you with

both the application code and online application code.

So I thought- what the heck, I'm gonna go learn how to apply online. I jumped to circle.ms, checked out the application pages and followed the instructions.

SUPER EASY. It totally beats filling out 6 sheets of paper full of info (you just practically fill out 1 form for online registration.) Paying by credit card was also amazingly easy, and best of all: I was able to submit my circle cut DIGITALLY!!!! I added shade and stuff to my circle cut.

My Circle cut is Marisa!!I am going with Touhou again.

However in addition, I plan to do something else also.

Maybe Vocaloid or Black Rock Shooter stuff.

So yes, I am applied for Comic Market 79. Results should be in within ....the next few months. Until then, I better keep on working on my arts :3

Comiket 78 Report (Belated, yes)

Well, again belated, but I should post it for goodness sake.

Comic Market 78, the first Comiket I applied to as a circle and didn't make it in. Might have been a good thing though, I managed to go with bunch of awesome dudes and even got to try out lining up from midnight (that's NO NO kids, you don't line up all night!! *wink*wink*) Anyways, here we go:

Our team assembled at Rinsabers hotel, got a nice view of Ariake from the Daiba Hotel.

Applied for Comiket 78

Whew, With a little less than two weeks in advanced I sent my application for Summer Comiket 78 This morning. This is my circle cut you'll see if I make it-

Well Doujin and suff are good and all,

I've still been working on commissions and freelance jobs.

I'm still looking for ways to break into the industry, I found a

Seminar that'll be going on by rakujob.com

They're a company/group that specializes in helping people get into creative jobs.

That'll be held on the 31st, all day I'll be going and seeing if I get some good information out of it (the entrance fee is 50 bucks, but they say if you dont benefit from it you can get a full refund, though I know it'll be beneficial for me.)

Well thats what I have coming up, Comiket results come in on April so I can forget about until then (that gives me four months to prepare something if I make it in again)

I wasn`t sure how I felt at first but hey, it was great, I remembered what comiket is all about-

Well as I mentioned in the last one, Itasha are those cars that are decorated with anime illustrations and stuff with decals and such. I`ve only seen one or two real ones ever, finding a parking lot full of them was neat.

Going to Winter Comiket 77 Day 1

Well here we are, The week of comiket has arrived! lets begin!

Shibuya and Akihabara

(I wanna get to Comiket, but I had these blogs in mind first)

Well few days ago I wrote a blog saying I`m going to Akihabara so I`ll be going over that...

EDIT: K it's decided! Meets at the panasonic building at 3-4! December 29th! I'll be there by Three so all you gotta do is show up! I'm expecting a couple people, but I'll welcome unexpected people too, so see ya there if you're coming!

Tokyo Day 2

Well, I actually arrived here a day earlier than expected, giving me two extra days to prepare for comiket (I thought it would be zero, first because I thought I`d be here on the 27th, second because I thought for some odd reason that comiket starts on the 28th....its from the 29-31st)

Well today I went out to buy some stuff to use at comiket at the 100 Yen Shop (dollar store)

bout a 5-10 minute walk there.

...Well after all the insane hassle of sending in the application (Equally hard as filling out tax returns and college financial applications) Then Waiting two months, and then finding out nothing was delivered (both the confirmation card nor the results package) and then using my brain to guess my confirmation number (where we rejoiced because I found out I actually made it, at the same time being super pissed because there was no excuse for the not to have sent anything if I was ACCEPTED), and then battling with the post offices (took me couple days ) to send the "undelivered/Resend mail application" to Japan (which cost me some via express mail)....


ALL MY EFFORTS ARE PAID OFF when I got one phone call this morning telling me I finally got those golden tickets to Comiket delivered to us.


...whew.
I can die in peace now...

SO YEAH. COMIKET 77 CIRCLE ATTENDANCE: FINAL NOW.

NOW I gotta work my butt off to get my books done! lolololol


I gotta also talk with the couple of you that might come with us this time.
